It's no secret that I love my Kindle app for the iPhone.  I don't actually own the Kindle physical device, because the advantages for the iPhone app for me are that it's something I *always* have with me, and it's backlit for nighttime reading.  I've bought many books for it and I've read some awfully huge books on it, such as A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin.

One thing I would love is if for every Amazon physical book purchase, I got a digital download of it for free.  This would solve the slight sadness I feel when I finish a novel on my phone and don't have a copy to place on the shelf as a trophy.  The cost of the physical version is generally higher anyway.  (For example, look at Game of Thrones.  $10.88 for physical book, and $6.39 for the Kindle edition.  Not many people would purchase BOTH, but people would definitely buy more physical books this way and it would increase the penetration of their Kindle device even more.  If I could buy a paperback or hardcover book and have an instant download wirelessly delivered to my phone while I wait for the shipping, that would be golden.

I'd then have my trophy for the shelf to complete my book collection, but I'd also have a portable edition on my phone.  Please Amazon? =)
